From the highly anticipated Rust in Peace album to the more recently released Otis Redding tracks, it seems that everyone can be getting at least something out of the popular rhythm game.
And things are about to get even better c especially for those of you who enjoy the psychedelic, rocking jams of the late 60’s and 70’s; According to the LA Times, Rock Band will be getting more Jimi Hendrix by the end of 2010.
With ‘Fire’ already a part of the music library (which can be acquired by means of exporting the LEGO Rock Band tracks), it seems that further exploration into the music of Hendrix has been set by Harmonix.
Could it be a full-fledged game, just as the Beatles was done? Maybe a track pack? Downloadable content? None of it’s for sure, but we can safely assume that Rock Band players should be prepared to rock out to the powerful, yet groovy, styles of Jimi Hendrix sometime in the future.
[Update: We’ve been sent an official update from a Harmonix spokesperson on this matter to clarify the status of this:
“While we have not made any official announcements regarding Jimi Hendrix and Rock Band, we are excited to say that we are in discussions to bring more of his music to our platform. Stay tuned.”]
