Reports indicate that the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion will add enough content that its size will rival the base game. This will include new quests, weapons, armor, and the Hoarfrost Reach area. And of course, the Iceborne expansion for Monster Hunter World will also add new monsters for players to hunt, with four confirmed so far.

Here are all the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne monsters that have been announced so far.

Banbaro

The Banbaro has huge antlers that it can use when chasing down hunters, and it kind of resembles a mix between a dinosaur and a moose. It certainly fits in the Iceborne expansion’s winter setting, and it will be interesting to see what kind of strategies players will have to employ to take it down.

Beotodus

Two words: snow shark. The Beotodus is a large monster in the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion that circles its prey like a shark in water, and it looks to be one of the more terrifying new monsters in the lineup.

Nargacuga

Not only will Monster Hunter World players exploring the Hoarfrost Reach area find new monsters, but it appears some of the new beasts will make their way to other parts of the new world as well. New monster tracks will start appearing in previously-explored areas, leading players to encounter new monsters like the deadly Nargacuga.

Tigrex

After being teased in the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne announcement trailer, the game’s story trailer officially confirmed Tigrex for the expansion. Tigrex is a fan-favorite monster, and it will be exciting for longtime fans of the Monster Hunter franchise to fight it in the Monster Hunter World.

Velkhana

Velkhana is an Elder Dragon in Monster Hunter World’s Iceborne expansion, and it is expected to be the main antagonist of the DLC. Velkhana’s ice attacks will make it a formidable foe to be sure, but Monster Hunter World players will likely be rewarded with some of the best armor and loot in the game if they manage to kill the beast and harvest its materials.

Monster Hunter World is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Iceborne expansion will launch on September 6 for PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release to follow in 2020.
