There are a few add-ons already available with the launch of Monster Hunter World, but most of them will cost you. All except for Additional Gesture Bundle 1, that is, which is currently free for all players. The bundle includes four classic gestures, including Dance, Rant, Clap, and, best of all, Prance. While these moves likely won’t impress the monsters they’re hunting, players will surely get a kick out of watching fellow hunters prance around the wilderness, fighting beasts.
There is another set of emotes available, called Gesture Bundle 2, and it will set players back $5. It includes the Play Possum, Kowtow, Sleep, and Kneel gestures. Those who are fans of the Play Possum gesture can purchase it separately for $2. Both bundles can easily be found in the console marketplaces.
If this is your first foray into the Monster Hunter universe, and it already seems intimidating, we’ve put together a collection of tips for beginners. This handy dandy guide lays out the basics of the game and covers important Monster Hunter topics, such as combat, resource gathering, crafting, exploring, and a few endgame tips for those who survive that long. Anyone who has never tackled one of these games should give it a gander.
Veterans of the series know the massive variety of weapons available to players, which can also be quite intimidating. There are three different categories and a total of fourteen different types of weapons to choose from. For those who know the ropes, but want the skinny on what’s new, and for those who don’t have a clue what’s going on yet, we’ve also put together a Monster Hunter World weapons guide.
With an idea of what’s available, all that’s left is to decide which weapon best suits your playstyle. Good luck, hunters!
Monster Hunter World is available now for PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release planned for later this year.
