Many gamers expected to see Monster Hunter World after details surfaced a couple days ago that Capcom had trademarked the name in the United States. By the looks of the trailer, it seems predictions were correct, that the game will be the US version of Monster Hunter XX.

It’s worth noting that the Monster Hunter World trailer was much higher quality than Monster Hunter XX trailers. This is likely due to the fact that Monster Hunter World was shared during the Sony press conference at E3, and the company is likely looking to show off its PS4 Pro graphics.

Since Monster Hunter XX is planned for the Nintendo Switch in Japan, it’s likely Monster Hunter World will be available on both the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in the US. Since the game was announced to be coming early 2018, more information will come as the release date nears. Hopefully Capcom will provide additional details during E3.

Monster Hunter World is expected to release early 2018.
