In Monster Hunter Rise, players will spend most of their time hunting massive monsters, so it’s easy to forget about the little guys. Most of the hostile small monster are better ignored than anything, and the passive herbivores that roam the map are overlooked even more often. For those players needing some High Quality Pelts, they’ll need to turn their gaze to Kelbi and Anteka.

If the only concern is collecting High Quality Pelts, the best way to do this is by hunting Kelbi. These deer-like monsters can be found in the northern areas of the Shrine Ruins (areas 11 and 13 usually have several), but they will only drop High Quality Pelts for players that are in High Rank. For every Kelbi that a player carves, they will have a 45% chance of receiving a High Quality Pelt. To farm these quickly, simply head out on an expedition and find as many Kelbi as possible.
Alternatively, players can also hunt Anteka instead of Kelbi, although this isn’t as reliable when it comes to getting High Quality Pelts. Anteka are primarily found in the Frost Islands area, but they only have an 18% chance of dropping High Quality Pelts in High Rank. Regardless, if players happen to be in the area, it wouldn’t hurt to stop by zones 1 and 6 in order to try and get a few High Quality Pelts. Keep in mind that, unlike Kelbi, Anteka turn hostile after they are attacked. They aren’t dangerous by any means, but it can make farming them slightly more annoying.
High Quality Pelts are used to upgrade and craft many items in the early stages of Monster Hunter Rise’s High Rank gameplay, so it’s a good idea to stock up on these even if the player doesn’t need any at the moment. Aside from Kelbi and Anteka, there are no other reliable ways to get this material.
