Thankfully, there are some lower-tier Master Rank armors that players can strap on to help protect them from some of the more powerful monsters roaming the lands, but they’ll need to farm some specific materials first. One of these materials, Frocium, can seem particularly difficult to find at first. Here’s how players can find Frocium Ore in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.

How To Find Frocium In Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

Players that want to grab Frocium Ore will need to travel to the Frost Islands and head to the various Mining Outcrops sprinkled across the area. Frocium isn’t the most common material, so its possible players can head to every ore deposit around the Frost Islands and not collect a single piece. That said, there are eight total outcrops in the zone, meaning players have a fairly decent shot to snag the ore during each lap through the area. The Mining Outcrops will also refresh after a short period of time, so players can return to camp after snagging the last zone and then start their rotation all over again.

Here’s a handy map (which can also be found in-game) showcasing all the outrops in the Frost Islands:

Players can increase their chances of finding Frocium if they equip armor with the Geologist skill, which will allow them to gather from different Mining Outcrops (and other gathering points) multiple times. Overall, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find the necessary pieces to craft some better armor in order for players to continue their journey through the Sunbreak DLC. The Frocium is used in multiple recipes but will help players piece together Master Rank variants of the Ingot Helm X, Tetranadon Mail X, and Ingot Coil X.

This new armor can then be upgraded with Armor Spheres if players need a little extra defensive capability to help them get through some of the tougher fights ahead. As players begin to down stronger monsters, they’ll have access to better armor sets that can really help elevate the numerous builds available in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Players will also be able to make use of new Switch Skills, and other, stronger weapons with better sharpness and offensive capabilities.
