Hunters can have skills equipped by either having the skill from the armor set they’re wearing or by putting decorations on their equipment. One such example is the new Blood Rite skill in Sunbreak, which can only be used by equipping the Malzeno Master Rank armor set, which can be crafted by hunting the flagship monster for Sunbreak.

Here’s what players should know about the Blood Rite skill in Sunbreak.

Blood Rite Skill in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Explained

The Blood Rite skill in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is one of the best armor set skills players can find, especially for hunters that want to save on money/crafting materials. The skill has three levels based on the equipment players currently have, and in the case of Blood Rite, the Malzeno Chest piece and Waist piece both contain the skill’s effects.

The official in-game description of the skill reads: “A proportion of damage dealt is converted to health when striking a broken monster part.” Simply put, players will first need to break a monster’s parts, and the more damage that is dealt to that damaged part, the more health the player regains.

This certainly comes in handy when facing a tough Master Rank monster such as Lunagaron or Malzeno, as players won’t need to constantly stop attacking to pop potions to survive.

Hunters should keep in mind that in order for a monster’s parts to be destroyed, using a blunt weapon like a Hammer, Great Sword, or Hunting Horn will make it much easier. Also, according to Arekkz, a YouTuber that focuses on Monster Hunter content, it seems that players will regain more health with weapons that have a higher motion value.

This essentially means that if players are using a weapon that doesn’t have a lot of “motion” in its combos, like the Sword and Shield or the Dual Blades, they might not regain as much health as when using weapons like the Switch Axe, Charge Blade, and Hammer.

How to Craft Malzeno Armor Set

Sunbreak players will get to face off against Malzeno at Master Rank 5, with the ‘Witness by Moonlight’ quest. After that, players can start to farm for Malzeno materials to help craft its armor set. Down below, players can see each piece of the armor set and the materials needed:

Also, the Malzeno set will give players level 2 Partbreaker, but upping that to level 3 should be a priority.
