Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak - Aeonian Coal Location
In order to obtain Aeonian Coal for the Cool Coal Discovery request, players must make their way into the Lava Caverns in Master Rank. Upon arriving at Monster Hunter Rise’s Lava Caverns, fans should focus their attention on the Scorched Ore gathering nodes that are scattered around the map. Indeed, it is in these nodes that players will find the Aeonian Coal that they are looking for, and the positions of several of them have been marked on the map that is below.

After collecting three Aeonian Coal, players should return to Flur the Sailor to obtain their rewards. Those rewards are the Watchdog’s Howl+ Bowgun and Outfit Vouchers, which can be used to create Layered Armor in Monster Hunter Rise. While it is true that these are not the most exciting prizes, the ease of Cool Coal Discovery means that players might as well complete the request and claim the rewards if they have some time to spare.
To note, fans will also receive some number of Kamura Points while they are searching Scorched Ore gathering nodes for Aeonian Coal. These points can be exchanged at the Argosy and the Canteen, and they can also be used to send Monster Hunter Rise’s Meowcenaries on expeditions. This multitude of uses makes Kamura Points quite desirable, and fans will be glad to earn some while they are working to resolve the Cool Coal Discovery request.
If a player really wants to get serious about earning Kamura Points while they are in the Lava Caverns, it is recommended that they equip some gear with the Gathering skill. This will allow fans to gather from Scorched Ores, as well other gathering points, bonepiles, and mining outcrops, more than once and increase the rate at which they earn Kamura Points. In fact, Monster Hunter Rise players can earn more than 30,000 points per run in the Lava Caverns, provided that they use the appropriate gear and gather during an upsurge.
