Neopteron is an upgrade material used in several weapons like the Kamura Sword and Kamura Gunlance. By harvesting parts from insects like the Bnahabra and Altaroth, players can convert their parts into the necessary Neopteron to upgrade their weapons. The reason for the confusion is that Neopteron is actually a classification of monsters, rather than a specific species.

How to Get Neopteron

As mentioned earlier, killing either the Bnahabra or Altaroth is the way to go for farming Neopteron. While it is possible to simply load up an expedition where the creatures roam, there is a far more effective method. There is a 2* Village Quest called “Case of the Creepy Crawlies” that tasks players with killing 14 of either monster. The reason it is such an effective farming method is that the monsters will be located automatically on the map once they spawn. Since the quest, like all others, is repeatable, it makes for a quick and easy farm that takes all the guesswork out of the equation. Altaroth jaw and stomach can be used for Neopteron in addition to Bnahabra scrap, shell, stinger, and wing.

Over time, a player is likely to accumulate the materials as the insects tend to get caught up in bigger fights and harvested by either the player or the palico. Though, a targeted farm or hunt may be necessary if crafting Kamura gear in bulk.
