Monster Hunter Rise: Immature Sponge Location
Players that are looking to obtain Immature Sponges should focus their efforts on slaying Ludroth, small aquatic monsters that primarily appear in Monster Hunter Rise’s Flooded Forest. More specifically, fans should target Areas 6, 7, and 14 within the Flooded Forest, as that is where Ludroth are found most frequently. While players can use the in-game map to easily find these areas, they have been marked on the map that is below for the sake of full clarity.

Upon locating some Ludroth, players should slay and carve them. This action will yield an Immature Sponge 36% of the time in Low Rank, which means that the material can be amassed fairly quickly. Notably, Immature Sponges have just a 28% chance to be harvested from Ludroth in Monster Hunter Rise’s High Rank, making Low Rank a better option for players that are in need of this material.
One final thing to mention is that there is a two-star Hub Quest and a three-star Village Quest in Monster Hunter Rise that task players with slaying Ludroth. Those quests are called Hide, Hide, Hide and Ladies of the Lake, and fans may want to use them as opportunities to hunt these monsters. Alternatively, fans can simply start an expedition in the Flooded Forest and dispatch Ludroth at their convenience.
Monster Hunter Rise: Immature Sponge Uses
With respect to what players should do with the Immature Sponges that they harvest, they can be used to upgrade the Drowning Shaft Long Sword, Ludroth Pair Dual Blades, Spiral Lance, and Spongia Bow. All of these weapons deal Water Elemental Damage in Monster Hunter Rise, and fans may want to have them equipped when fighting monsters like Arzuros, Great Izuchi, and Kulu-Ya-Ku.
Players can also use their Immature Sponges to create pieces from the Ludroth, Droth, and Vaik armor sets. Each of these sets provide some amount of Water Elemental Resistance, making them reasonable options for battles with monsters like Barroth, Royal Ludroth, and Tetranadon.
Monster Hunter Rise is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
