This past week saw the Monster Hunter Rise Demo finally launch on the Nintendo eShop. The level of excitement clearly outpaced what Nintendo and Capcom were expecting as the initial rush to download the demo as the servers strained to contain the demand. Things got so bad that Nintendo took to their Twitter account to ask people to be patient so the servers ultimately could stay online though it ultimately caused Nintendo to run emergency maintenance in order to stabilize.

While many fans didn’t need any incentive to download the demo and jump in, Capcom recently revealed that anyone who does opt to try the Monster Hunter Rise demo will get some goodies for their time. Players that have save data for the demo on their Switch will earn a number of freebies for the retail game once it launches. Fans can receive Mega Potion (x20), Pitfall Trap (x5), Energy Drink (x10), Mega Demondrug (x5), and Mega Armorskin (x5).
While none of these items are game changing, they’ll certainly go a long way to helping newer players hit the ground running while learning the ropes. The demo itself is only available for a few more weeks, leaving the shop on February 1, 2021, so interested players should grab the demo sooner than later. The demo features multiple missions and has online play for those who want to try it out. In addition to the date, players can only go on 30 quests until the demo will essentially end and force the player to wait for the full game release.
In addition to free items, Nintendo and Capcom have collaborated on special Monster Hunter Rise Amiibo figures of the Palamute, Magnamalo, and Palico. Using these in-game unlock a special set of layered armor which allows the player to continue changing the outward appearance of their character while retaining the stats and benefits of the currently equipped armor. While Capcom hasn’t confirmed the armor, influencers have started to show off concept art of the sets including the Sinister Seal armor from the Magnamalo figure.
Monster Hunter Rise will be released on March 26, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch.
